Belavadi it was built in 11th Century and is more than 900 years. It was built duirng Hoyasala period, They Say this temple was constructed 100 years before Belur and Halebedu, some say near about the period of Belur and Halebedu constuction it was constructed, There i no correct information. It is a thirukutachala Temple. In Main Cellar Lord Veera Narayna is giving Darshan, on our left hand side Rukmini , Sathyabhama Sahitham Venugopala, on right hand side it is is our Lord Yoga Narasimha a Gigantic Moorthy. They Locals say it was constructed during the reign of Narasimha Bhalala and Veera Bhalala the great Hoysala Kings . Even though it is only 20 Kms away from Halebedu , when halebedu was attacked , nothing was damaged in Belavadi and Locals guarded the temple of Belavadi with great valor and we are seeing the great treasure chest left by our forefathers for us to see. Two times Nithya pooja is conducted without any break from centuries. If you carefully watch the Venugopala you can observe he is standing under the tree and playing the flute and also you can see the carvings of the Rishis like Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanathana and Sanath Kumara are sitting , below it Gopika Sthrees immersed in the venu Ganamritha , Then Bleow it al the Gopala and Golla's are there. If you observe the idols you can see that all are immersed in Venuganamrutha . One more thing is All the Thrikootachala Moorthies are carved in three parts, They are Garuda Peetha , then Base stone then the Lords. it is Eka Shila beautifully carved. They all are Shaligrama Shilas.But the entire temple is carved in soapstone,Veera naryana hold in Upper Right hand Padma and Lower right hand it is Vyagra Hastha.Upper Left hand it is Gadha and lower left hand it is Veera Mudhra ( It is a sort of a ayudha ) hence he is named as Veera Narayana , Lord is accompanied by Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi, On the Prabhavalli full Dashaavathara is carved.Every year march 23rd and 11 September the Lord Surya Narayana Pays his due respect to Veera Narayana. You can witness this rare feat on March 23rd but 11 September it is difficult since it is rainy season, It is your luck if it does not rain. The Surya's light directly falls on the Lord Veera Narayana in the Straight 90 degree angle One more point to be noted, there are SEVEN Doors right from the entrance to the Grarbhagruha. Dear all See how geometrically they have constructed, Imagine there were no cranes and other equipments in those days yet they have constructed Geometrically and that shows temple and Veeranarayana Sannidhi is perfectly facing east direction. And one more point it happens Half yearly and it happens only on those to days. According to English Calendar it is equinox day . Then on the right side is our Adbhutha Kesari " Yoga Nrusimha" After slaying the Hiranyakashipu our Swamy was in Urga Mood, then slowly his Anger subsides and now he is seated in Yoga Mudra,He is having Shanka in left hand and chakra in Right hand and he is seated in Yoga Mudra and you can observe the Yoga Patti ( It is a sort of Pitambara cloth) is clearly visible.Everywhere in the Prabhavalli you can see the Simha ( Keerthi) Lalata, but your will observe the Padma Lalata. We can say padma Symbolises the Peace and it suits our Lord Narahari in Yoga Swarupa. The uthsava Moorthy is Lakshmi Janardhana and every year During Hindu Calendar Month of Chaitra (April - May) Rathousthavam is held for five days. Here they are following Vaikhanasa Agama. Now let us analyse the Puranic Sthalapuranam. In those days it was known as Eka Chakri Nagara. It is said that Bheema did the Bhakasura Vada here. The Village fair or jathre is held on that day . On the day of jathre event is know as bandi Bhana and they cook different variety of food and fill it in a cart and take it in procession and go around the village and then they go to a field and then do Bali of the food and it is believed if you witness the event certain doshas will get destroyed.
